Master Mason's Journey
From the humble initiation in the craft to the glorious exultation as a companion in the Royal Arch.In Royal Arch you recover the True Secrets of a Master Mason.

In 1813, when the Antient and Modern Grand Lodges merged to create the United Grand Lodge of England, they defined ‘Pure Antient Masonry’ as encompassing three degrees: Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, and Master Mason, which lead up to the Royal Arch.
This declaration remains at the forefront of our Book of Constitutions, signifying the four components of a Freemason’s journey. While UGLE oversees the first three degrees, the Royal Arch falls under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Grand Chapter of England. Yet, in practical terms, they operate as a unified organisation.

This remarkable connection ensures that our Grand Master also serves as the First Grand Principal in the Royal Arch, and many other important roles are shared. This unique structure sets English Freemasonry apart globally and is a cherished part of our historical heritage.
As you progress on your Masonic journey and reach the level of Master Mason, you come to realise that there’s always more to learn and discover. The Royal Arch completes this journey with a memorable and colorful ceremony that reveals the true secrets of a Master Mason.
